Default Leipzig: Worth the Trip for a Guild Wars Fan?

I have never been to a games convention before as I've always had to travel some distance, but by coincidence I am in Germany for an intership this summer, and hence it would be easy for me to make it to the Games Convention. But because I've never been to something like this before I don't know what to expect. Would it be worth the trip?

I don't care less for the other NCsoft titles and my concern is that there might not be all that much present for the Guild Wars fans. The impression I get from their website is that Aion will be getting alot of attention. Free party afterwards sounds good, but I don't imagine it will be the kinda party I'm used to; kinda scared it will be a big nerdfest!

Anyone been to something like this before that can tell me if it is worth the effort? Thanks in advance!

I say go. You've already got the hardest part done; you're in Germany. If it's not too expensive, go for it. That way later you can drop in casual conversation "Oh sure, I was at the Leipzig convention. Weren't you?"

If they were showing GW2, definitely. Still, a chance to meet the devs is always cool. I'd go if I were you.

I am sure it will be fun so why not. Though if they was showing some GW2 then I think most people would go in a heartbeat.

Since you're already there, I'd say go. I mean, I don't think I would travel a great distance to do it or anything. But since you're already there, why not, right?

Only thing is, there will be other options. Some others (the internation students I am living with) are thinking of going to party that weekend in Koln which is guaranteed fun. I need to weigh up my options so I was hoping to fnd out what the deal is at these conventions: What is the atmosphere like? What are the people there like? Do you actually get to properly meet the devs or will I find myself having to cue to get the option to buy a signed mouse mat?

I'd go if I was in Germany (or close to), but I'm across the pond in Quebec without a stable source of income... wish there were more conventions in Quebec. >_>.

Well, you get to stare at lots of pretty girls, and cars... and some computer games.

If you only care about GW2 and not so much about the rest, you should definitely not bother to go there.

I was there 2 or 3 years ago, and we left earlier than we expected.

Do this. Get sloshed and end up in bed with some German girl. Better then Guild Wars in my humble opinion.

If nothing else, the GWFC showed you can do this and Guild Wars.
